This topic will be used to provide tips and tricks to using these forums. How to post topics, reply to comments, quote another user, set up your user profile, attach images, link to an external website and so much more. Check back from time to time to see what we have added.

    ATTACHING IMAGES TO YOUR POSTS.

You may have noticed the recent addition of the attachment section to the bottom of each post you make. This will allow you to attach images, pdfs, etc, to your posts. Please keep the file sizes small and keep the images and material clean.

I have used this method to attach an image from the home page of Green3DHome. Just browse for your image and then click upload. After that, make sure to hit the "Insert Image" button and a tag will appear in your image.

The forums will keep track of your uploaded images in the My Files tab so you can add the image to multiple posts.

    Enjoy!

    TOPIC REVIEW FEATURE.

Many people have asked that we include the function to review the other posts in the topic while making a reply. Well now you can. At the bottom of the post screen is a function tab which will allow you to review the entire string of posts while still in the post you are trying to make.

You can pull out quotes or review the text of another user without having to leave your post and start all over.

    Enjoy.

    QUOTING ANOTHER USER

This is always a convenient and requested feature. To quote another user, you have a few options. You can either use the two tags "quote" and "/quote" (the brackets are important and should be used to signify a tag) and simply cut and paste another (or your own) text in between or you can use the quote button above another post to quote the entire post. You can then delete anything you don't want to quote.

A warning here. When you quote another post, the thread can get very long and some people may steer away from such long reading. It is more advisable to quote the important parts of what has been said rather than quoting everything.

    A sample quote is below.

Many people have asked that we include the function to review the other posts in the topic while making a reply. Well now you can. At the bottom of the post screen is a function tab which will allow you to review the entire string of posts while still in the post you are trying to make.

    Enjoy

NO LINKING AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.

It is unfortunate but there are some people out there that abuse open forums like this one to create links to there sites. An active clickable link can take you anywhere and sometimes people create accounts for the sole purpose of using our forums to lure people to their sites.

For this reason, we have disabled this function. You can still cut and past a link into the forums, but it will just have to be cut and pasted into the readers browser for them to go to your site.

We know that this is an inconvenience to many, but we just want to keep this forum as clean and smooth running as possible. We want everyone to enjoy their time here. If the forums became cluttered with bot and spam posts, we would have to spend more time cleaning up rather than working on making this site better.

    Thank You.

Finally. Sorry if that came off as rude, but I have been waiting for the quote thing and the image thing for awhile.

Thank you. really sucks that you can't put active links but I think I can understand the security needs on that one. Hopefully there is some kind of patch or fix for the security hole someday,.
