I see that you sell the solio. My wife got me one of these. I love it. I just open it up when I eat outside at lunch and it charges my phone. Fantastic. I will definitely have to look through the rest of your site.

We are Civil Engineers in the Southern California region that would like to be as green as our clients and Architects will let us be. We dictate some interesting Los Angeles city environmental cleaning stuff that everyone hates to implement. Civil Development Group

Brandon, just a quick inquiry. Do you find that architects are pushing for more green engineering, sites, etc? I know that some of the client side push for sustainability can lag, but are the architects at least pushing for these ideas even if not the clients?

The thing that turned me off right away on this site (Green Home Building that is) was that in the second sentence they referred to sustainability as a trend. This doesn't sit well with me. This shouldn't be a trend but rather a way of life for everyone. Trend suggests that it will fade in preference for another trend.

There seems to be a wealth of information as to go about building an eco friendly home in cool to cold countries, but not very much on building in the Tropics.

I live in Thailand and everyone builds with air conditioning installed. Air conditioning is more expensive, thus a larger carbon footprint, than central heating.

I built a house making use of natural air flow. It's incredibly cool, in more ways than one :D You can check out the site for this house at tropecohouse.com

carrie, my understanding with tropical climates is that the major problem isn't heat as much as it is humidity. You can't take a passive house that you would design for say Arizona and put it in Thailand and expect it to be comfortable. I'll check out your site and see what you've got.
