So I have heard a lot about super efficient refrigerators and I am in the market for some new appliances. Where can I find these and are they readily available. One of my friends said you have to go to European providers to get these things and I can't afford to have one shipped.

    Can anyone help me?

I think you can actually search the entire energy star database of refrigerators and even rate them by most efficient or least energy used. I don't know if you can say you want a certain size and then search by efficiency, but that is where I would start.

thanks, but WOW, that is a big list. Does anyone have any experience with high efficiency refrigerators, either regularly available domestically or imported ones. I don't know home big of one I need or how much efficiency is too much for the extra money.

i'm gonna throw in a big me too on this one. that list is too much to make it through. I may be a little lazy at times, but I would much prefer to know which ones are the best and which fridge is the right one for my application without having to wade through a huge list like that.

Ooops. My fault. I just realized, they have xls files available that will allow you to sort the fridges any way you want and there are also some savings and energy calculators too. I will update the group when I go through and see what I can find.

The energy star list is pretty useful especially when you download and can sort as you see necessary. An important thing to remember though is that you really want to test them out in a store. You need to ensure that they are comfortable to use and that you are getting the right set up for you and your family.

There are thousand of shop that sales household appliances around US and I am sure there are some near you. Why don't you surf in an internet for this. Actually when I had my new home build I was using internet for all my household appliances and got all those from internet. There are millions of forum/blog which talks about different appliances that are used at home. Reading those post also helps you to choose the best brand appliances for your home. So dude go for it, gain knowledge from blog and forum and get you appliances.
