So my husband ended up re-doing our roof the right way, rather than using these large sheets of rippled plastic material to re-direct rain.

Now we have 20+ rippled plastic sheets and I was hoping forum members can provide me with ideas on how to re-purpose them.

    Thanks

Why were you using corrugated plastic for your roof in the first place? Doesn't sound like an ideal material. Was this for your actual residence?

Corrugated plastic isn't the most beautiful material and it ages badly. You could look at a greenhouse structure as an option. You could sell them of course, but I don't see a huge demand for corrugated plastic.

Your husband wouldn't be Frank Gehry. Those of you who have seen his personal residence will know what I mean.

Depending on your climate, sun conditions and precipitation, I am sure you could use these as roofing materials and it wouldn't be considered wrong. Since you have already gone against that, I think you could consider a green house if they are clear or translucent plastic. You could use them as a cool, modern interior finish in some of the rooms or create movable partitions. I think there are some really cool ideas you could come up with.

If it is recyclable or bio-degradable, only then plastic should be used, otherwise it is a nuisance to the environment.

I think you can use them as an additional roofing on some sides of your house, like on the back of your house or somewhere that the rain falls is much falling. You can also use those for a green house. We also had a client in CT Roof Repair before that had those roofing too and they just add it on the back side of their house.

I'm interested in this, too. I'd like to cover my run with it because we get SO much rain here in Florida. I was thinking of (my husband) drilling holes and using wire to "weave" it on...but that seems labor intensive, for sure!

You should buy a brand roofing material that will go long time and safety.

You'd be surprised how many companies out there use 'good for the environment' roofing materials. Some of those old plastic ways are gone, and there is synthetic stuff that works better and doesn't cause a lot of environmental damage to make. I'm currently seeking some Indianapolis roofing contractors myself to see if I can find some that use such materials.

I thought you were talking about PVC roofing material. You are talking about actual plastic roof sheets. You can recycle them the old fashion way, or you can recycle them in a creative way. I would try to find somebody else that could use them. Maybe you should try and post a listing on craigslist.
