On Wednesday, April 21st, come join author, screen star and green movement ambassador Mariel Hemingway in celebrating both the upcoming 40th anniversary of Earth Day and the launch of Runka.com, a new online retailer offering only eco-friendly products at discount prices.


RUNKA.com and Mariel Hemingway are hosting a mixer announcing the official launch of the Runka.com e-commerce website that seeks to be the world’s leading ecommerce provider of eco-friendly and sustainable consumer products of all kinds—from everyday household products and supplies to specialty gift items. The mixer will be held in San Francisco from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Daffodil restaurant in the lobby of the Orchard Hotel. The Orchard is San Francisco's first US Green Building Council - LEED certified hotel located at the corner of Bush and Powell.


Ms. Hemingway will give a brief talk on the current breadth and demand for eco-friendly products, on how the green movement has evolved since that first Earth Day gathering in 1970 to the global phenomenon it is today, and how Runka.com serves the needs of the modern day eco-conscious mainstream consumer.


There will be complimentary wine and Hors' d'oeuvres along with a variety of green gifts for those that attend. The event kicks off several environmental programs on the horizon, in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day.
