I was just reading about this on another forum and thought it was a good conversation. Why don't we have urinals in the home? They use less to flush, they are fairly small and could be placed in most medium to large sized bathrooms that exist today. For smaller bathrooms, it might not be feasible, but if we started designing homes today, there could be a urinal in every bathroom going forward. How much money could be saved by taking a simple step like this? |

One word. Gross! Sure cleaning up a toilet after a guy is bad enough but to add a urinal to the mix, NO WAY. The conservationist and greenie in me sees the benefit, but the girl in me says there is no way that I want a urinal in my house. They are dirty and disgusting. |

Urinals in the home will never fly. They are a waste of money. Why would someone spend the extra money to install the extra plumbing. I get the convenience factor for men but how many guys are going to be willing to clean them. Not many and I would guess that the women who live with them will refuse as well. I have seen an architect friend of mine suggest to his wife that they should put one in the shower..... And here I thought that was what a shower was, a big urinal. |

Hi dude,.. I think they are considered something of a luxury, because they are both unnecessary and take up space that may not be available in a home bathroom. regards.,,. |

Hi.., I think first of all it is depend on your desire. You can add it into your bath or not. It is the waste of money, according to my point of view. Simplest is the best..... |

I personally dislike urinals because I believe men should wipe their penises after they urinate. That's a whole other topic of controversy, but men always have a few extra drops of pee, no matter how much they shake it off, and that goes right into their underwear... which is pretty gross. So for that reason, I think urinals are a terrible idea to begin with. But if your husband is sloppy in the morning already, I seriously doubt you will get him to wipe. Okay, so all things aside, if you were able to find an economical way to install one, I think it would be a cool idea. |

Urinals in the house don't seem to be good idea for house. They are additional expenses for bathroom, Why would someone invest the additional cash to set up the additional water system. I get the advantage element for men but how many folks are going to be willing to clear them. Not many and I would think that the females who stay with them will decline as well. I have seen an designer buddy recommend bath fans for bathroom but not urinal in bathroom. |
