Great resources. I hope that more and more kids decide to go into green programs and then foster the same interests in their children. This is one of those movements that needs generational support and activity.

I think one of the most important things we can do with the green movement is to educate and excite the young people of the world. We need to create energy and enthusiasm in the coming generations. We need them to see potential not only to better the world but to form new and innovative careers. The economies and workplaces of tomorrow will not be those of today, and the youth of today will be the ones who really make the biggest differences.

A little unrelated, but I have been reading a book," Hot, Flat and Crowded" and one of the chapters talks about energy poverty and how without accessible energy in the third world, we are missing an opportunity to add to those green ideas.

We can have all the programs in the world, but if we are only tapping into 3/4 of the world's intellect, are we really doing all we can?

I think that is a brilliant point. In a new age, education is not limited to books, to the knowledge of elders or passed stories. The information technology revolution has raised the bar and when you don't have the ability, either because of lack of wealth or lack of electrical power, you are doomed to fall behind the world.

Research by the kind fellows at Auto Express have revealed that some diesel cars have to be driven in excess of 30,000 miles a year before they become more economical than their petrol siblings. If you are buying a new car then our advice is to do your sums, the assumption that opting for a diesel car will save you money may not actually be correct.

Educating the youth on the environmental issues that face us in this new age is one of the most important steps in fostering a greener community.

Right now, NBCUniversal is making a commitment to sustainability across the entire company. Their "Green is Universal" initiative is focused on bringing an environmental perspective to everything NBCUniversal does, informing and entertaining their audiences while driving more sustainable practices into their own operations.

Check out this video (courtesy of NBC4) about eco-friendly lessons for children.

I'm helping NBCUniversal spread the word about their "Green is Universal" campaign, so let me know if anyone has questions.
