I am all about getting to know people and companies who are worthy of the "green" mark.

For your home/backyard design, here are two exceptional ones:

First, for your pool or hot tub, look into Dimension One Spas. It's a company that has been "green" long before it was a coined phrase. Their hot tubs are made from 100% recycled milk jugs and the water is cleaned with an ionization system (to conserve water and energy). Heating costs are only about $15-20/month. Best of all, it has the glitz and glam of a resort's jacuzzi (with mood-lighting fountains and an underwater stereo system).

Their website is: www.dimensiononespas.com.

Also, one of the most renowned eco designers in LA, Kelly LaPlante, has published a book showcasing her work. You can catch a glimpse of celebrity homes who are now officially "green" thanks to Kelly. The book is called "Ecologique" and can be found at:

Just curious. Do you work for the people at Dimension One Spas. This is the second post I have seen from you that mentions them. I usually don't look at hot tubs as sustainable in any fashion and an energy conserving one simply means it wastes less not that its good for the environment.

A hot tub as a eco-choice. Someone help me with this one. You heat a large pool of water and then sit in it while running a pump to create bubbles. Sure you can use recycled materials and a low waste manufacturing process, but does that make this a green product. I am not sold.
