I am currently in the process of renovating my home/backyard. What a process! But the more I work do, the more fun I'm having trying to find green solutions for everything.

The most recent work I did was have an "eco friendly" hot tub/jacuzzi installed in the backyard.

Not only does it make my yard look like a resort, but the energy bills are only $20/month!

The hot tub I chose is called The Amore Bay by Dimension One Spas (d1spas.com). It's made of recycled milk jugs and is very well-insulated. Also, the water is cleaned with a special ionized filtration system so it saves a lot of water.

I hadn't really thought a hot tub could add to the conservation movement, but I was proved wrong... and I couldn't be happier with the new addition to my backyard!

If you're re-designing your backyard too, I highly recommend checking out this line of spas.

Is this a sustainable choice or just a greener than the other hot tubs choice? Curious. I too love the hot tub life and have read up a bit on these. I would say they look pretty nice. Have you thought about linking it to a rainwater collection system in order to supply all the water for it. Now that would be taking to the next level.

Hey it seems you have a very good environment at you home. Hot tub at the backyard is a great idea. Me too is so curious to see your backyard, can you post a pic of you backyard pic along with your hot tub. Actually I have a above ground pool at my backyard and now I am wondering change my backyard with replacing above ground pool with the hot tub. I don't have much space at my backyard and placing both Above ground pool and hot tub will occupy almost all the space so am thinking to replace a pool with the hot tub.

I would imagine that having a pool cover installed would save on energy costs, as it would keep the heat inside when it's not being used. Plus, pool covers keep the bugs out as well! My family and I are in the market for some pool covers Indianapolis at some point because we realize that the water will undoubtedly be higher quality with a cover on the pool.
