So I am a big fan of NPR and I was listening to Tech Nation. They had a guy on who was talking at length about Life Cycle Assessment and Industrial Ecology. It was very informative.

He was talking about how going green was bigger than just having green materials or substances in your products. He talked about professionals who are now doing and making public, in depth analysis of the total impact of producing any give product.

He also promoted the site http://greenguide.com I went there and I must say, its pretty jam packed with information.

Sounds really complex and probably will have a hard time "reading" to the American public. Most people just want a quick glance, this is good or this is bad judgment. Do you really think people will want to know all that information about every consumer good?

Life cycle assessment is complex, but that doesn't mean the labeling and informational packets need to be so. It could be as easy as a scale broken down into multiple categories. I do think that most won't want to understand LCA, but they will begin to purchase based on the information.
