So in another thread here the topic came up about products pretending to be the perfect solution or being more green than they actually are. The topic centers around bamboo but I will let you read for yourself.
http://www.green3dhome.com/Communit...1.aspx#507 I have always railed against greenwashing. Its the practice of overhyping and linking the sustainability movement to your product in order to sell sell sell. Evidently in the world of marketing and advertising, a touch of green is enough to make a company eco-friendly and all the products bastions of a sustainable future.
So I thought I would start a thread and see what your favorite examples are of greenwashing. My personal favorites are the line of SC Johnson commercials where they talk about their landfill or their green efforts as they pump out products that are toxic and full of chemicals. Think Drano, Scrubbing Bubbles and Windex.
What are yours?
