In a three day span both Earth Day and Arbor Day come to the people of this country. Some don't even notice while others do their best to take extra steps and really make a difference.
So what did you do for Earth Day or plan to do for Arbor Day?
I myself did the following this year.
- Installed a new ceiling fan
- Planted a new tree in the front yard and a few flowers
- I plan to plant 3 apple trees for arbor day

I went to a tree planting event yesterday. My local parks and rec department doing four days of planting and from what I went through last year I had to go early. The Saturday sessions are a zoo. Its a really rewarding experience. I recommend it to anyone.

I gave in. I planted a tree this year. We lost one to a lightning strike last summer and I wanted to replace it anyway. I don't know if I will be here when it matures, but its nice to know that we replaced something that we lost.

I planted a tree in honor of some of my friends. It was rewarding on so many levels.

I planted a maple tree in my public right of way to replace the ice damaged one from this winter. The top had completely died back and it looked really bad. We are trying to save some clippings and see if we can't get them to root, but its not as easy as some people think.
