My family has had issues over the past year or so with really poor quality air in the house. Its an older house and we have a retrofitted forced air system that the previous owner put in. I think we have mold in the walls but am scared to go down that road. Is there a way to check the walls for mold without tearing things out. There is no evidence from the face of the walls and no water damage anywhere.

We are just having too many problems with the air in the house.

Can anyone here come up with some ideas?

I would call in a local inspector and have them check out the walls, floors, water lines, etc. I think if you are having health problems caused by your house, this is something you need to do yesterday. If there is mold or something else going on in the house, you need to take care of it immediately.

good luck and keep us up to date.

In the meantime you should probably invest in a quality air purifier. At least you can minimize the effects until you can find a fix.

Hope you can sort this all out soon.

bosseda, would one of those ionic air purifiers do it? We have one but it doesn't "treat" the whole house. One of my nephews said that they are bad because they release ozone. Is that right?

Maybe I am a bit of a paranoid, but I would say that you should call an inspector and go stay in a hotel for a few days until you know whats wrong. If you are showing symptoms, its just not worth staying there until you know what is wrong.
