I have been working a lot lately trying to harness the power of BIM design to make my designs more sustainable.
It is a great combination of ideas and technology. Read more about what others have done.

I think that BIM has the greatest potential to usher in the green revolution in building design. Its not only a great way to integrate building systems and consultants, but its a new way of designing and producing documents for the construction of buildings. I can imagine that this software will make fast track buildings the new norm as well.

I agree. Whatever BIM solution is used, whether for a large project or just a single family home, BIM will speed up the production cycle, minimize change orders after the fact, and minimize oversights and misunderstandings, and permit better cooperation and staging between trades.

There is also great integration with energy modeling software with some BIM packages. You just build the model with all the appropriate specifications and you can run an energy audit and see places for improvement.
