I was just reading about this on another forum and thought it was a good conversation. Why don't we have urinals in the home? They use less to flush, they are fairly small and could be placed in most medium to large sized bathrooms that exist today. For smaller bathrooms, it might not be feasible, but if we started designing homes today, there could be a urinal in every bathroom going forward. How much money could be saved by taking a simple step like this?

One word. Gross! Sure cleaning up a toilet after a guy is bad enough but to add a urinal to the mix, NO WAY. The conservationist and greenie in me sees the benefit, but the girl in me says there is no way that I want a urinal in my house. They are dirty and disgusting.

Urinals in the home will never fly. They are a waste of money. Why would someone spend the extra money to install the extra plumbing. I get the convenience factor for men but how many guys are going to be willing to clean them. Not many and I would guess that the women who live with them will refuse as well. I have seen an architect friend of mine suggest to his wife that they should put one in the shower..... And here I thought that was what a shower was, a big urinal.
